Dr. Robert Naseef

Dr. Robert Naseef is a psychologist in independent practice in Philadelphia, where he runs Alternative Choices in Psychotherapy and Autism Evaluation. He’s a native Philadelphian and earned his Ph.D. at Temple University, and he’s spent more than 35 years working with families of children with disabilities, with a particular focus on autism.

Dr. Naseef brings a personal perspective to his work as the father of an adult son with autism, and that experience shapes his books, including Special Children, Challenged Parents, Autism in the Family: Caring and Coping Together, and Voices from the Spectrum, which he co-edited with Dr. Cindy Ariel. He’s delivered a TEDx talk on how autism teaches us about being human, and he was honored by Variety, the Children’s Charity for his contributions to the autism community. He currently serves on the Autism Society of America’s Panel of Professional Advisors and the AJ Drexel Autism Center’s Leadership Panel, and consults with the Arc of Philadelphia.
