growth problem

My daughter is 4 months old.she was born with weight 4.75 pounds.she was gaining 2 pounds every month but in 4th month only 1 pound.Her height is 58 CM.She is on breastfeeding only,not taking enough feed,but still satisfied,not crying,Laughing all the times.She is very active.In growth chart her percentile is in lowest range.Any advice

Breastfeeding is the best thing for her especially since she was born small. As long as you allow her to breastfeed on cue meaning whenever she is looking for it and not on a schedule she should be fine. Also if she wants to nurse for 1/2 an hour or even more try to allow her to do that. The more time she spends on the breast the more milk she is going to get. Also your body will adjust to her need and produce enough milk as long as you do unrestricked feedings. Make sure that she is emptying your breast before switching sides so that she gets the milk with most nutritions in it. You might have so much milk in one breast that she won't need to switch sides after that so if that happens just remember what breast you nursed so that you can do the other breast at the next feeding. Nursing is almost a confort thing for you baby and you should feed her and look at the clock because sometimes she might need 45 minutes on the breast and next time only 15 minutes. My son was born weighing 5.5 pounds and now at 3 years-old he is very big and is on the upper end of the growth chart. I nursed him for 2 1/2 years. I remember him wanting to nurse sometimes 3 times in an hour when he was just an infant and I would always let him because breastfeeding is suppose to be done on a cue not schedule. Please check with your pediatrician to see if they are concerned about the weight and what they suggest to do. Good luck with nursing!
