What is a Healthy Weight Gain during Pregnancy?

Although there is no magic number, a healthy weight gain usually falls somewhere between 15-35 pounds (7-16 kg). Where you fit in this range depends on several things including how much you weigh before you become pregnant. Recent recommendations suggest that underweight women gain the most weight and suggest overweight women gain less. If you have a healthy pre-pregnant weight your weight gain will likely fall somewhere in the middle.
