If you don't know when you're ovulating, now is a good time to find out. Having perfect timing really is key to getting pregnant -- your window of opportunity lasts only 24 to 48 hours per month.

When you ovulate, hormonal changes trigger your body temperature to rise between 0.5 and 1.6 degrees, signaling your most fertile time of the month. 3.  Where to be during Love Making

Many experts suspect that the missionary position (man on top) affords the best opportunity for baby-making, though no definitive studies have been done. This position allows for the deepest penetration and, as a result, places sperm closer to the cervix. Some experts also believe that a woman can further increase the likelihood of conception by remaining in bed for up to half an hour following intercourse, preferably on her back and with a pillow under her pelvic region. In theory, this provides the sperm with additional travel time up to the Fallopian tube along with help from the forces of gravity. 

4.  Conquer the Alcohol GONE!

Studies have found that alcohol affects fertility -- and the more you drink per week, the more likely it is to play a role in fertility problems. In one study, women who completely gave up alcohol were 50 percent more likely to conceive. Another study found that men who drink any amount of alcohol daily decrease their testosterone level and sperm count.

5.  Smoking is a NO NO!

Smoking can reduce a woman's chance of becoming pregnant.  Men that Smoke: Sperm count and quality are drastically effected.

Start taking 0.4 mg (400 mcg.) of folic acid every day now, because it takes some time for your body to build up proper stores of this important B-vitamin. It is important to take it before conception and early in pregnancy, since these defects occur in the first month of pregnancy before most women realize they're pregnant.
